High efficiency and broadband Ambient RF energy harvesting
Billions of IoT sensors are expected to be deployed in the near future for smart buildings/cities, wearables and industrial IoT applications. However, IoT sensors are mostly powered by batteries, which leads to high replacement cost and huge battery waste, and limits their wide adoption. Our breakthrough solution is based on patented invention of a novel, Metal-Semiconductor-Metal (MSM) diode to achieve ultrahigh efficiency (100+x higher) and unique broadband capability (up to THz). Our MSM diode-based RF harvester works like a solar panel for ambient broadcasting RF signals (Cellular/WiFi/TV) and can generate electricity to replace (AAA/AA) batteries for powering battery free IoT sensors, wearables and implanted active medical devices.
