Rapid pathogen detection
Every year food waste contributes nearly 6 percent to global greenhouse gas emissions. Hundreds of billions of pounds of food are wasted and billions of dollars are lost to recalls and spoilages. Nearly half of all food waste is due to the pathogen contamination. Hundreds of thousands of people become sick and often hospitalized due to exposure to harmful bacteria. The reason for this is that we still rely on decades old method of cultured bacteria detection that can often take up to 3 days to provide results and is simply too slow for our modern just-in-time logistical network. We have developed rapid pathogen detection methodology that can provide real-time, accurate and specific pathogen detection on-site.
