The poor disposal of waste is causing floods by clogging drains and contaminating water bodies when dumped into canals and oceans. Vulnerable communities with inadequate solid-waste management can see waste quickly clog conveyance systems and drains, leading to flooding. BleagLee Waste Management has developed a flood-prevention, 3D flight planning software that helps low-cost drones to inspect poorly disposed waste on any drainage channels, oceans and waterways - without internet connection. It is currently working in several countries, providing protection for more than 900k people from flooding and is now launching an operation to fully eliminate flooding in Cameroon. If successful, this will be an uncommon victory in Sub-Saharan Africa.
