Food waste is fueling the climate crisis. One third of all food produced globally is wasted, costing $1 trillion, directly contributing to food shortages, water stress, biodiversity loss contributing to 10% of all greenhouse gases emissions. If we could save even just one-fourth of the staggering 1.3 billion tons of food waste every year, it would be enough to feed 870 million hungry people in the world. At Positive Carbon, we tackle food waste in the foodservice sector. Using our food waste sensors, we monitor all of a kitchen's food waste, showing them exactly what food they’re wasting and how to reduce it, allowing them to cut their food waste in half, reducing their food bills all while helping the planet!
